Rediscovered
in 1992 in its original case and with four middle joints in 415, 400,
392 and another in 415 which is designed to transform it into a flūte
d’amour, (pitched a minor third lower than the normal flute), in B.
This
is a high quality instrument in each of its three pitches, featuring
at the same time power, intonation and harmonic richness. I consider
it to be one of the best flutes of the Baroque era, ideal for playing
music both by the German masters J.S. Bach, Handel and Telemann and
also music from the French repertoire in 392 Hz.
