  I.H. ROTTENBURGH (1720)

jhr-rottenburgh

The original, pitched in 400 Hz., is to be found in the Musée Instrumental
du Conservatoire Royal de Musique in Brussels.

This is an instrument obviously emanating from the Hotteterre
with a richer tone-colour though less depth.
Grenadilla is a wood well suited to its construction
but some players prefer boxwood for the warmth it gives.

Can be made in either 400 or 392 Hz.
